1. Road Scholar Outdoor Adventures: Challenge the Body and Enrich the Mind

For travelers looking for unique adventures, Road Scholar’s educational programs provide access to exceptional experiences to keep both physically active and intellectually engaged. From biking to hiking, canoeing, birding and water sports, Road Scholar’s Outdoor Adventures combine learning from expert instructors with physical activity in the great outdoors.  Each program includes explorations of local culture and cuisine, natural history and more.

“With more adults living longer, healthier and more active lives, there is demand for more active travel opportunities,” says JoAnn Bell, vice president of programming and author of our Boomer Travel Tips blog. “While our Outdoor Adventures have been consistently popular, we’re now introducing new programs that combine the outdoors with other experiences – for example, ship-based Adventures Afloat programs that include an active land component and Urban Outdoor Adventures for bicycling in major metro areas.”
